Davey Lambert has died following a crash during the RST Superbike race at the 2017 Isle of Man TT on Sunday.
Organisers confirmed the Englishman’s death after the Kawasaki rider fell on the third lap at Greeba Castle, five miles into the 37.7-mile course.
Following the crash, Lambert was initially airlifted to Nobles Hospital on the Isle of Man before being transferred to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool, where he succumbed to injuries.
The 48-year-old was making his Isle of Man TT debut, having previously competed at the circuit during the Manx Grand Prix in 2014 and 2015.
The race was eventually won by Ian Hutchinson, who recorded his 15th TT win.
ACU Events, the organisers behind the Isle of Man TT, wished “to pass on their deepest sympathy to his partner Tracey, his family and friends,” in its statement.
