Dale Wood has been hit with a 35 point penalty for his role in an opening lap clash in Race 15 of the Coates Hire Ipswich Super Sprint.
The Erebus Motorsport driver made contact with James Moffat’s Garry Rogers Motorsport Holden at Turn 3 resulting in the latter being turned around.
The incident was investigated by the stewards who deemed Wood to be at fault.
Wood eventually came home in 23rd while Moffat sustained damage, forcing him into the garage for repairs.
Moffat rejoined the race but was also handed a 72 second post-race time penalty for failing to complete a mandatory tyre change.
