Buderim carpenter Francis Terol has scored himself a customised Stone Brothers Racing (SBR) Ford Falcon XR6 thanks to the IRWIN Industrial Tools Need for Speed promotion.
In a competition that attracted 5,700 entries from around Australia and New Zealand, Terol, an employee of Brentwood Building, had his name drawn from the barrel after simply purchasing three IRWIN SPEEDBOR® Max drill Max drill bits at the Melco Trade Expo in August.
“I have used IRWIN products a lot over the years and never thought I would be rewarded this way!” said Terol. “When I got the phone call I was stunned. I know the competition would be very popular for tradies around the country and never believed I could actually win it! As a tradesman I know the importance of good quality tools and I have never been let down by IRWIN. Around plenty of sites I see IRWIN Tools in action, now I get to take my tools to work in my very own unique Ford SBR work ute.”
This was the third year that IRWIN Industrial Tools, manufacturer and distributer of professional grade hand tool and power tool accessories, had run the ‘Need for Speed’ competition and the first time that it had offered such a unique prize.
The SBR XR6 Ute has been customised by Stone Brothers Racing and IRWIN Racing driver Alex Davison; including striping and other special additions. Davison presented the car to Terol at Melco Mitre10 in Kunda Park.
Alex Davison crosses the country this weekend for the penultimate weekend of the V8 Supercar Championship Series. Earlier this year he scored his career-best finish of second placing at Darwin’s Hidden Valley.
“I thought I was happy the day we finished second in Darwin, meeting Francis it seems like he won a V8 Supercar round!” said Davison. “This year’s ‘Need for Speed’ has been the best-ever for IRWIN. It has been great for regular customers, but it has also encouraged new uses of the fantastic range of products from IRWIN Industrial Tools. IRWIN Industrial Tools just last week announced a two-year extension to the deal with Stone Brothers Racing and we are really looking forward to chasing victories in the IRWIN Falcon.”
Second and third prize winners, each received $2,500 worth of IRWIN Tools. Darryl Gibson, an apprentice Plumber from Echuca (Victoria) and Graham Taylor, a builder from Blenheim (NZ) were equally pleased with their IRWIN purchase, and of course, thrilled with the news that they can now choose an extra $2,500 worth of IRWIN product.
