Kelly Racing has restructured its race team management and engineering positions ahead of the Island 300 at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit this weekend.
These moves, effective immediately, come after the departure of Jack Daniel’s Racing Team Manager Joe Bremner.
Bremner, who has worked in motorsport for 17 years both in Europe (including Formula 1) and Australia, will leave Kelly Racing at the end of 2009 to devote more time to his young family.
Matthew House, formerly Team Manager for the #11 BET 247 Holden Commodore and #16 Hi-Tec Oils Holden Commodore, will take over Bremner’s previous role as Jack Daniel’s Racing Team Manager.
Barry Ryan, formerly Race Engineer for Todd Kelly’s #7 Jack Daniel’s Racing Holden Commodore, will take over House’s previous role as Team Manager of the team’s #11 and #16 entries.
James Small, formerly Race Engineer for Jack Perkins’ #11 BET 247 Holden Commodore, will take over Ryan’s role as Race Engineer for Todd Kelly’s #7 Jack Daniel’s Racing Holden Commodore.
Dale Wood will fulfill duties as Race Engineer for Jack Perkins’ #11 BET 247 Holden Commodore at Phillip Island, with further information on that role to be announced at a later date.
Todd Kelly was high in his praise for Bremner.
“Joe Bremner has played an enormous role in the first year of Kelly Racing,” said Kelly.
“It’s unfortunate that he will leave us at the end of the season because I rate him extremely highly, but having him stay on for the rest of the year to oversee these changes will allow us to make the smoothest transition possible.”
