The Formula 3 Australian Drivers’ Championship, Kumho V8 Touring Car and Kerrick Sports Sedan Series titles will all be decided this weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park’s Shannons Nationals season finale.

Team BRM’s Simon Hodge leads the F3 standings by 20 points over Gilmour Racing’s Ben Gersekowski heading to Sydney.

Forty-eight points remain available at SMP, including bonuses for the pole and fastest lap in each of the three heats.

The Western Sydney venue will decide the title after a scheduled appearance at December’s Sydney 500 proved financially unviable for the category.

Hodge and Gersekowski have shared 15 of the 17 race wins during the season to date between them, with the former holding the balance of power with nine victories.

“It’s great that it’s all coming down to Sydney Motorsport Park and it’s certainly appropriate that the year ends with Ben and I fighting hard,” said Hodge, who is aiming to give French chassis manufacturer Mygale its first Australian F3 title.

“As we saw at Phillip Island, a similar style of track, his car is good in places and mine in others and it basically means it will be on for young and old.

“The key is making the most of what we’ve got.”

The Kumho V8 Series sees Eggleston Motorsport’s Justin Ruggier hold a 44 point lead over Ford driver Ryan Simpson with 143 available in Sydney.

Should Ruggier win the title, his ex-Walkinshaw Racing Holden will enjoy the unique distinction of becoming the first car to take out all three tiers of V8 Supercars racing.

The chassis won the V8 Supercars Championship in 2006 with Rick Kelly, before Tony D’Alberto embarked on a successful Dunlop Series campaign the following season.

The Kumho Series will feature a 13 car grid this weekend, bolstered by the return of Jose Fernandez (Ford Falcon BF) and the debut of Darin Renouf’s ex-Perkins Engineering Holden VX.

Tony Ricciardello meanwhile needs just a handful of points to secure his eighth Sports Sedan Series crown after a dominant season for the Alfa driver.

Ricciardello holds a 115 point margin over Colin Smith (Holden Monaro) with just 135 points still up for grabs.

The Australian Formula Ford Series will hold its penultimate round in Sydney, while the Radical Australia Cup and PRB Motorsport Series complete the program.
