The Grenoble hospital where Michael Schumacher was transferred following his French skiing accident is reporting that he is in a critical condition.
After initial information suggested his head injury was ‘not life threatening’, the situation has since changed after reports that he has suffered a brain haemorrhage
Gerard Saillant, a top brain surgeon from Paris, was dispatched to attend to Schumacher.
The seven-times F1 world champion underwent emergency surgery and remains in a coma.
Schumacher had been skiing off piste (unmarked slope) at Meribel, one of the top ski resorts in the French Alps where he owns a chalet, with his 14-year-old-son Mick at the time of the accident.
