Cameron Waters has described the Mygale M-07 he will race in the City of Darwin Cup as ‘awesome’ after a testing the car at Mallala today.
The Dunlop Series regular has been invited to debut Mygale’s factory entry in the Formula 3 Australian Drivers’ Championship at the Top End circuit.
The 17-year-old, who won last year’s Australian Formula Ford Championship in a Mygale chassis, says he adapted to the car quickly despite early running being hampered by wet weather.
“They’re awesome cars,” he said.
“I just went out there and got a feel for it. It was wet in the first session and I’ve just come in from the dry – they’ve just got so much grip and you can push them so late under brakes and into a corner.
“They’re awesome things to drive. They’re sort of similar to the Formula Ford except they don’t move around as much – so it hasn’t taken me long to adapt.”
