Have you ever wanted to design the livery of a V8 Supercar? If the answer is yes, IRWIN Tools is giving you the opportunity to design the 2012 IRWIN Racing Ford Falcon.
IRWIN Tools has been involved in V8 Supercars for five years, and recently extended its sponsorship with Stone Brothers Racing for a further two, but this is the first time that the international hand tool and power tool accessories company has given the public the chance to design its race car.
IRWIN not only believes the competition will be popular but expects the designs will be first class.
“We have always prided ourselves on having one of the sharpest looking cars on the V8 grid; the IRWIN Racing Falcon stands out better than most,” said Laura Turnbull, IRWIN Tools’ Marketing Director.
“While we think that the IRWIN Ford looks pretty good, every now and then we hear from a race fan that thinks they can do a better job, so we thought we’d see what they could produce.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for a V8 Supercar fanatic or a design guru to showcase their skills and impress.”
Not only will one talented designer get to see their creation on the track in 2012, but they will see their design applied to the IRWIN Ford by 3M at the Telstra Sydney 500 in December.
“At the final V8 event of the season in Sydney, 3M will sticker up a Stone Brothers Racing Ford on-stage in merchandise alley,” said Turnbull.
“3M will have a dedicated crew at the track working hard so the finished design is revealed before the start of the Sunday race.”
The winner of the competition will see their design on the starting grid of the Clipsal 500, have their name included on the IRWIN Ford and receive VIP tickets to the 2011 Sydney Telstra 500, including flights, accommodation and corporate hospitality in the IRWIN Tools suite.

The winning design will be judged by Stone Brothers Racing and IRWIN Tools on Wednesday, November 16, 2011.
