Over 150 racers will hit Willowbank Raceway this weekend for the final opportunity to set their cars up ahead of next weekend’s Castrol EDGE Winternationals.
The two-day Winters Warm-Up will give a form guide ahead of next weekend’s big event, that for the first time – will carry over to the Queen’s Birthday holiday Monday.
Many of the bigger names in Pro Stock and especially Top Doorslammer are turning out for the Winters Warm-up – including the Pro Stock Championship leader Aaron Tremayne and brother Tyrone, along with perennial Doorslammer crowd favourites, Victor and Ben Bray.
This will be the last opportunity these competitors have to come to grips with the Willowbank surface in cooler conditions ahead of the big event – the largest of its type outside North America.
The Castrol EDGE Winternationals this year will feature a massive international headline act, with NHRA superstar, Cory McClenathan joining a stacked Top Fuel field.
“With so many racers on track, I really encourage the fans to come along and take in all the action,” said Willowbank Raceway Managing Director, Steve Bettes. “They will get an early taste of what will be frenetic racing action come Friday the 10th of June all the way through to Monday June 13.”
The Winters Warm-up runs tomorrow and Sunday, whilst the 44th Castrol EDGE Winternationals fires into life next Friday – June 10.
