One of the first big announcements from World Series Sprintcars ahead of its new season is a revision to the popular Christmas to New Year Speedweek which this season will give competitors additional time between races.
Following the first two nights of racing at Adelaide’s Speedway City and Murray Bridge Speedway on Boxing Night and December 27 respectively, teams will enjoy a rest night on the 28th before racing on the 29th at Borderline Speedway in Mount Gambier.
The following night they will race at Avalon Speedway near Geelong before rounding out the Series within a Series at Warrnambool’s Sungold Stadium on January 1, 2013.
The move is part of an evolution and constant improvement of the Series, according to Race Director, Shane Collins:
“Like any race team, we’re constantly looking at ways of improving, and with the schedule being finalised plus drivers to be announced in coming months, we are looking at some big announcements for WSS very soon,” said Collins.
