British Formula 4
Oscar Piastri has finished on the podium in each of the three British Formula 4 races at Croft.
Piastri qualified second on the grid for the first race of the weekend and while pole-sitter Linus Lundqvist was untouchable, Piastri saw off an early challenge from Logan Sargeant to retain his starting position throughout.
With the top six on the grid flipped for the second race, the Australian made a strong start to move up to third, before passing championship leader Jamie Caroline shortly after a Safety Car restart.
Alex Quinn won that encounter, with Piastri making a one-two finish for Arden.
Lundqvist drove away from the field again in the third race, while Quinn took second after passing Caroline and Piastri at the start.
Piastri finished third after pressuring Caroline into an error.
“Three podiums out of three is always a good result over the weekend,” said the Victorian.
“The team has done an amazing job. We’ve been fast all weekend regardless of the conditions.
“We’ve certainly made up some ground on Caroline in the standings which is great for the championship.”
The sixth event of the season is at Snetterton on July 29-30.
World Rallycross Championship
Johan Kristoffersson has extended his championship lead after persevering with an injured right foot to win Round 6 in Norway.
The Swede’s foot had been run over by Sebastien Loeb during a pre-grid earlier in the weekend, but it didn’t stop him from making a strong start to the final.
Kristoffersson took his joker on Lap 1 before his nearest rival Andreas Bakkerud did so a lap later.
The race came back to Kristoffersson as the rest took their jokers, giving the PSRX Volkswagen Sweden driver his second win of the season.
“I have to thank my team and car; this is another really good result for us,” said Kristoffersson.
“In pre-grid on Friday, there was an unfortunate accident as my right foot got caught underneath Sebastien’s car.
“It needed to be reversed to get my foot back out which was really painful but nobody’s fault; just one of those things that happened.
“As there wasn’t much time between the semi-final and final, that is when it was really bad but painkillers helped and I will go to the hospital tomorrow morning to get it properly looked at.”
Bakkerud remained second in the final while Loeb finished third.
Round 7 takes place at Sweden on June 30-July 2.
British Touring Car Championship
Ash Sutton (Subaru) beat Colin Turkington (BMW) in a tight affair in Race 1 at Croft, the pair running nose-to-tail throughout the 15-lap journey.
Turkington turned the tables in a reverse of the Top 2 in Race 2, moving into the lead when the pair attempted to run side-by-side through the Hawthorn chicane on Lap 1.
Sutton faded towards the end and his focus became keeping out Turkington’s team-mate Rob Collard.
Mat Jackson (Ford) survived a late charge from Sutton to win Race 3.
Jackson’s team-mate Luke Davenport is in an induced coma after a multi-car qualifying crash on the day prior.

British Formula 3
Toby Sowery has dominated Round 4 of the British Formula 3 Championship at Silverstone, taking pole and being denied a clean sweep only by a partial reverse grid in Race 2.
In Race 1, the pole-sitter had to hold out championship leader Enaam Ahmed in the early stages before pulling away for his first race win in the championship.
Ben Hingely won Race 2, while Sowery passed James Pull on the final lap to finish second.
Sowery led from lights to flag again in Race 3, while Ahmed leaves Silverstone with an increased championship lead.
The round was the first which Harry Hayek will miss completely after suffering fractured vertebrae during practice for Round 3 at Snetterton in May.
Round 5 is at Spa on July 7-8.
