World Series Sprintcars Champion and former national champion, James McFadden has embarked on a quick American visit that will include his first assault on the Knoxville Nationals.
McFadden’s American sojourn begins this weekend in Canada with the World of Outlaws, however it almost didn’t happen.
He was due to be running equipment owned by Australian car owner, Scott Milling – however issues arose with transporting the vehicle. Originally due to shelve the plans until next year, he was thrown a lifeline by car owners, Gene Jenkins and Scott Mertz. Instrumental in putting the deal together was owner of Titan Racing, Reeve Kruck.
“Gene and Scott run good gear. James will have what he needs to do the job right,” Kruck explained. “The car only runs selected times and events each year. They (Jenkins and Mertz) originally had Dave Blaney pencilled in to drive the car but when plans changed Gene spoke with Scott Milling and they put a deal together to have James drive.”
Gene Jenkins is the father of Kruck’s long-time crew chief, Bingo Jenkins.
