Trent Young and James Abela shared victories in third and fourth Aussie Racing Car races at the Castrol Edge Gold Coast 600.
Young once again proved to be untouchable in third race as he gapped the field by more than eight seconds at the chequered flag, with Tyler Greenery in second and James Abela in third.
The victory was Young’s third of the weekend having been the class of the field in the previous two encounters.
The final race of the day provided plenty of chaos with Abela claiming victory in the contest which was red flagged after just eight of the 12 scheduled laps.
Young had led the majority of the race which was halted by the introduction of the Safety Car on lap three for a incident including Jeff Watters, Brian Ford and Sam Milton.
Once racing resumed Abela made his move on lap seven as the New South Welshman slipped into the lead where he stayed for the remainder of the race.
Young was unable to respond as the race was red flagged following after Troy Adams and Brendon Tucker made heavy contact.
Young won the round having taken three wins from the four races.
The Aussie Racing Cars series heads to Phillip Island for the final round of the season on November 14-16.
