Taz Douglas and Kristian Lindbom have tested a Walkinshaw Racing Commodore VE at Winton Motor Raceway today.
The Victorian pair drove Nick Percat’s Coates Hire-backed Fujitsu V8 Series Commodore, getting about 20 laps each around the 3.0km circuit.
Douglas currently competes in the Fujitsu V8 Series and is looking at possibly changing the way he goes racing in the future. For the past two season, Douglas has prepared his own ex-Perkins Commodore and says he’d love to have the opportunity to drive for a professional factory organisation.
“I love doing it myself and I’ve learnt a lot, but at the same time, by the time I get to the track, I’m exhausted from fitting tyres and packing the truck,” Douglas told Speedcafe.com.
“I’d really like to roll up and have a car that is capable of winning.
“I’ve sold my car (Commodore VZs are not permitted in the Fujitsu V8 Series next year) so I have to do something, so options are open.”
Lindbom’s racing has been sporadic of late, taking a race win at Hidden Valley in Formula 3. He recently tested Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport’s Commodore and is eyeing a future in V8 Supercars.
