John Bowe has won a fifth Touring Car Masters series with a runaway victory in Race 2 at the Coates Hire Sydney 500.
Race 1 winner Steven Johnson pulled off with an ignition problem as the flag dropped, allowing Bowe a clear run to the first corner.
The Holden Torana driver did not waste the opportunity, breaking the lap record on his way to a 14s victory in the nine-lap encounter.
Tony Karanfilovski briefly held second before Eddie Abelnica got by on the opening lap.
Glenn Seton (Ford Mustang), however, would go on to finish second as he recovered ground after being delayed by the stricken Johnson at the start.
Abelnica was third, having been passed by Seton on Lap 5.
Johnson returned to the circuit but was ultimately not classified as a finisher.
Consolation came for the second-generation racer when he won Race 3 from second-last on the grid.
Cameron Tilley held out Bowe, who came from the very rear of grid, to finish second.
Touring Car Masters returns in 2017 with the season beginning at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide, from March 2-5.
