Touring car legend John Bowe is set to do battle against a collection of sportscar racing’s biggest names when he makes his debut at the Goodwood Revival later this month.
Following this weekend’s Holden Torana outing at Sydney Motorsport Park’s Muscle Car Masters, Bowe will head to England to pilot a Joe Calleja owned 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, raced by Peter Brock in the 2005 and 2006 Goodwood Revival meetings.

The famous Goodwood Revival event, held from September 11-13, will see the 1995 Australian Touring Car champion feature among a star studded field in the RAC TT Celebration race for 1960s sportscars.
Bowe is set to line up against Le Mans 24 Hours winners Tom Kristensen (1963 Lister Jaguar Coupe) and Derek Bell/Emanuele Pirro (1964 Ferrari 250LM), two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Arie Luyendyk (1964 AC Cobra) and current Aston Martin works driver Darren Turner (1962 AC Cobra).
“I don’t have any great expectations, I’m just going to enjoy it,” Bowe told Speedcafe.com following confirmation of the 30 car field.
“I’ve raced against plenty of very good drivers through the years including world champions, but this to me is about enjoyment.
“Obviously I have a lot of respect for guys that have had a successful motor racing career, it is just going to fun.
“I’ve been round all the shops buying old clothes as that is the protocol at the event.”
The Tasmanian will be joined at the event by two-time World Superbike champion Troy Corser and Adelaide’s Glen Richards, a former British Supersport champion.
Corser, who won world titles in 1996 and 2005, will jump aboard a 1966 BMW Kaczor R50S in the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy race.
Richards will ride a 1963 MV Agusta 500/3 in the same race which will also feature 1993 500cc world champion Kevin Schwantz and iconic British rider Steve Parrish.
Historic racing specialist Laurie Bennett from Melbourne will also be in action behind the wheel of a McLaren-Chevrolet M1B in the Whitsun Trophy race.
Speedcafe.com will provide a live stream from the Goodwood Revival event.
