Matt Brabham will be vying to continue his strong form in Stadium Super Trucks when the series resumes this weekend at Long Beach.

The DeVilbiss Racing driver leads the standings having won the most recent race and finished on the podium in each of the four held so far across the Lake Elsinore season-opener and in Adelaide.

The Brabham family has history in Long Beach, with Matt having also won in SST there last year and father Geoff in the Toyota Atlantic Series in 1981 and 1982.

Geoff also has two podiums in three IndyCar starts in the Californian city from 1984 to 1986.

“It is great to be coming into Long Beach with the championship lead,” said Brabham.

“Winning the round in Adelaide was great, especially the final race where we had really good pace. That gives us confidence heading into Long Beach.

“Dad had some decent results at Long Beach during his open wheel career in North America and I have always felt at home on the legendary street course.

“I am looking forward to carrying the momentum into this round and putting on a good show for the fans.

“We have some corporate guests coming from (sponsor) the Preston Group and with the Preston Rentals logo on the truck it would be cool to be able to carry that to a couple of big results.”

Fellow Queenslander Paul Morris will also be among the field when the Stadium Super Trucks race as a support category to IndyCar’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach this weekend (April 13-15 local time).
