Matt Brabham has extended his points lead in the Stadium Super Trucks series after winning Race 2 at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Australian fought back after rolling his truck in Race 1 to claim victory in the final hit out of the weekend under the lights.

Gavin Harlien emerged victorious in an action packed first race ahead of Paul Morris and Jeff Hoffman.

Aaron Bambach led early as Morris quickly forced his way into second before the first competition caution on Lap 5.

Morris moved his way into the lead shortly thereafter, as Harlien got by Bambach and into second.

Brabham’s spectacular roll over came on Lap 13, when flailing bodywork blocked his view and the 24-year old hit a jump on the front straight awkwardly.

The incident brought out a red flag, but when proceedings eventually got back underway, Harlien made his move for the win at the end of the penultimate lap.

After having his truck repaired between races, Brabham was on a charge in Race 2, finding himself second in the early running as Blade Hildebrand opened up a sizeable lead out front.

The first of the race’s competition cautions, however, closed the field back up and Brabham made short work of Hildebrand to take the lead upon restart.

Brabham headed home Harlien and Robby Gordon, while Paul Morris and Cole Potts rounded out the top five.

“Race one was really good, we were able to come through the field and battle for the lead, but the hood came up and I couldn’t really see,” said Brabham.

“I tried to follow the truck in front of me and I thought if I go over a jump the hood might go down. But unfortunately I misjudged the jump and ended up rolling.

“The truck had a little bit of damage, so it was a great job by the DeVilbiss guys to get us out for race two.

“Starting in fifth for race two allowed me to get through the pack quicker. And then I used a bit of strategy to get to the lead.

“I waited until the guy in front took his joker lap then put in a really quick lap and took my joker and was able to stay in front.”

Stadium Super Trucks will now head to Road America from August 23-25.
