Dick Johnson Racing has confirmed its entire eight-man endurance driver line-up for the Sandown 500, Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and the Armor All Gold Coast 600.
As first revealed by Speedcafe.com in February, Allan Simonsen, Alex Davison, Matt Halliday and Paul Morris will join the team for Sandown and Bathurst, pairing with Steve Johnson, James Moffat, Dean Fiore and Steve Owen respectively.
For the Armor All Gold Coast 600, the four-car team has secured the services of Italian pair Max Papis and Gianni Morbidelli, to be joined by Dutchman Peter Kox and American Boris Said.
Papis will share the #17 Jim Beam Falcon with Johnson, and Kox with Moffat in the #18 Team Norton entry, while Morbidelli and Said will drive with Fiore and Owen – the same pair that has raced on the streets of Surfers Paradise last year.
Team founder and principal Dick Johnson says that he is confident that he has found the right balance of experience and speed.
“This year we needed to source eight co-drivers to team up with our regular season drivers,” said Johnson.
“We were pleased that many of the internationally acclaimed drivers agreed to come back and race with us again.
“With a team the size of ours, it was important we found drivers who were of an exceptional standard but who also fitted with our team dynamic. They need to hit the ground running and fit in quickly in October and the group we have found, we believe, due to their experience and professionalism, will be excellent additions to the DJR team.”
