Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup will have some extra support in the crowd at this weekend’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
TeamVodafone has created 6000 life-sized cut-outs of the Holden outfit’s leading stars, offering them to the crowd at The Great Race.
The team set up a number of them in the grandstand on Pit Straight for this photo opportunity today.
Whincup admits that it was “weird” seeing his face many times over in the stand.
“It was pretty weird – a bit scary actually looking up at the grandstand looking up at Lowndsey and I but that is what Bathurst is all about,” he said.
While most of the Holden fans are likely to embrace them, Whincup says that not all of them will survive the weekend in tact.
“There’ll be a lot of them around, and I’m sure there will probably be a few burnt at the end of the weekend as well,” he joked.
The V8 Supercars hit the circuit for the first time tomorrow at 10.15am.
