The Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship will return to the Bathurst Motor Festival in 2013, the category has confirmed.
The wings-and-slicks class made its debut at the Easter event this year, where its fastest drivers lapped the famous circuit in the 2m04s bracket without major incident.
Having passed its litmus test, Formula 3 chairman and R-Tek Motorsport team owner Ian Richards says that the category is looking forward to its return.
“2012 was the first step for the category at Bathurst – in 2013 we will grow the round and turn it into one of the key Formula 3 rounds in Australia,” he said.
“Now we have shown what the category is capable of, we are working to make it bigger and better than ever.”
Formula 3 joins the NSW Production Touring Cars, Formula Vee, Production Sports Cars, NSW Road Racing Club and Porsche Club NSW regularities on the program for the March 29-31 event.
