Nick Foster will make a first start in the Blancpain GT Series Asia when he joins Craft Bamboo Racing for Rounds 5 and 6 at Suzuka.

Foster will partner Devon Modell in GT3 in a Porsche 911 GT3 R, his second drive outside of Europe in as many months after returning to Australia for the Porsche Carrera Cup Pro-Am at Phillip Island in late May.

The drive comes just a week after the 25-year-old Foster finished 10th in the LM GTE Am class in the Le Mans 24 Hours with Gulf Racing, as part of his regular World Endurance Championship ride.

“I am very excited to be joining Craft-Bamboo Racing in the Blancpain GT Series Asia,” said the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia champion.

“Personally, it’s a great opportunity to work with an operation with such vast experience, which I will no doubt draw on over the weekend.

“Suzuka is an amazing track, it’s both technical and committed, so I can’t wait to tackle it in the #88 Porsche GT3 R.”

Modell joined Craft Bamboo for the second event of the Blancpain GT Asia season at Thailand’s Buriram United International Circuit in May.

The 26-year-old Brit drove with Darryl O’Young to results of eleventh and ninth in the two races held in Buriram in the team’s sister #99 911, which O’Young will this weekend share with Peter Li Zhi Cong.

New Zealander Chris van der Drift and Thai Naiyanobh Bhirombhakdi drove car #88 to results of 10th and 13th in the last event in Thailand.

The third event of the 2017 Blancpain GT Series Asia will see practice on Friday June 23 before an hour-long race on each of Saturday June 24 and Sunday June 25.
