Fujitsu General has re-signed as the naming-rights sponsor of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series for a further two years.
The new deal for the class formally known as the ‘V8 Development Series’ will see the class sponsored by the air conditioning giant until the end of 2011.
Fujitsu’s Deputy Managing Director Philip Perham says that he is pleased to continue with the series.
“Fujitsu General is excited to remain as naming rights sponsor of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series for another two years,” said Perham.
“The series provides us with a great platform to promote our brand and our guests are always thrilled about spending a day at the races with us. For the drivers, the series continues to provide an opportunity for the young and talented to hone their skills and a real chance to break into the main Championship Series.”
The extended deal also means that Fujitsu will be the sponsor of the series for its 10th year in 2010.

The Fujitsu V8 Series started in 2001, originally sponsored by Konica and was known as the ‘Lites’ Series. In 2004, the sponsorship changed to Konica Minolta, before being taken over by the Holden Performance Driving Centre in 2005.
Fujitsu began its support of the series in 2006 and has remained with the category ever since.
Former champions of the class include Dean Canto (2001/05), Paul Dumbrell (2002), Mark Winterbottom (2003), Andrew Jones (2004), Adam Macrow (2006), Tony D’Alberto (2007) and Steve Owen (2008).
