Ian Madsen will enter this weekend’s two night finale for ENZED World Series Sprintcars with the best possible equipment underneath him when he takes to the wheel of the Miracle Recreation Equipment/Prosser Toyota Monte Motorsports machine.
The car is the sister car to the Monster Energy Drinks #7 that dominated last weekend’s proceedings at Bunbury Raceway at the hands of Shane Stewart and was earlier this season driven by Donny Schatz in Brisbane.
With Schatz returning to America for World of Outlaws commitments, Madsen has the opportunity to end his season on a high.
Madsen – younger brother of Australian World of Outlaws STP Sprintcar Series star, Kerry – has been one of the form runners of the Australian summer. He was right at the front of the Australian Sprintcar Championship in Brisbane before striking trouble during the A-Main event.
ENZED World Series Sprintcars, presented by Hog’s Breath Cafe, will come down to the wire at the Perth Motorplex across Friday and Saturday nights. 238 points separate defending Champion James McFadden and Stewart – who is now a clear second (+68 points) after Steven Lines struck trouble last weekend.
The battle for third in the Championship will be just as fascinating as the one for the win. South Aussie, Luke Dillon has come back into form lately – sitting just 25 points behind Lines – and the high banks of the Motorplex will suit Krikke Motorsport’s US-import Tim Kaeding, who is 66 points off the final rostrum place.
