Australia’s triple world Speedway Champion, Jason Crump has sustained a broken collarbone in a crash in Russia and is in doubt for the upcoming Croatian Speedway Grand Prix.
Riding for Far Eastern in the highly lucrative, but risky Russian league against Emil Sayfutdinov’s Balakovo in Vladivostok, Crump had a rare crash resulting in the break.
He has immediately been flown to Geneva for surgery, arranged with the assistance of Red Bull in an effort to get him fit for the Croatian Grand Prix, due to be held next weekend, July 28 in Gorican.
Red Bull and Mark Webber were instrumental in assisting the Mildura raised Gold Coaster when he sustained a serious arm injury two years ago and it is only this year that Crump is showing the form that took him to the three World Championships.
The 36-year-old currently lies second in the World Championship behind Greg Hancock.
