Andrew Jones will again carry local backing on his Brad Jones Racing Commodore at the Dunlop Series round at Townsville this weekend.
As per last year, Townsville’s leading supplier of ceiling fans and accessories, A.L.B. Distributors, will adorn the Commodore in place of the regular Alliance Truck Parts livery.
“It’s always great to head to Townsville and connect with Buckie (A.L.B. boss Michael Buck) and the guys at A.L.B. Distributors,” Jones said.
“They really get behind their local community, this event and Supercars.”
Jones, currently fourth in the championship, is hoping for better fortune this year after being hospitalised on the Friday of the Townsville meeting last year with what was initially diagnosed as an unspecified illness after suffering shoulder and chest pains.
Subsequent tests revealed Jones was suffering from the viral infection, Pericarditis which inflames the tissue around the heart.
“Our main aim for this weekend is to complete more laps than we did in 2015,” Jones said.
The Dunlop Series will feature two 21-lap races around the 2.86km Reid Park venue.
