Veteran driver Kim Jane has added the Touring Car Masters series to his V8 Ute Racing Series duties for the remainder of the 2014 season.
The nephew of Australian motorsport great Bob Jane will be behind the wheel of Eddie Abelnica’s Ford Falcon XB GT for the final three rounds of the TCM season.
Abelnica, a long-time friend of Jane, currently sits fifth in the points standings but has elected to step out of the series due to business commitments.
“My first and only time in the series was in 2011 when we raced at Sandown in Eddie’s XB Falcon GT and to get another shot is fantastic,” said Jane.
“I am looking forward to the speed and handling when compared to the Bob Jane T-Marts / Altenzo V8 Ute – they are faster and handle more like the NASCARs I used to race.”
Jane is testing the Falcon today at Calder Park ahead of the September 12-14 event.
Sandown will also see Jane debut a brand new Holden in the V8 Ute series.
The Bob Jane T-Marts backed Jane sits ninth in the Ute standings after the most recent races at Townsville in July.
