Le Brocq continues form in Race 2 qualifying

Prodrive rising star Jack Le Brocq’s hot form in the Dunlop Series continued with pole position for Race 2 in Townsville.

Le Brocq put in another clinical performance aboard his GoGetta Ford, rocketing 0.5s clear at the top of the order with a 1:14.24s set as the session entered its final five minutes.

The Saturday pole and race winner was able to spend the final moments in the garage as his rivals all failed to better his time.

“Let the good times roll,” Le Brocq smiled as he received the Armor All Pole Award.

“Let’s hope we can complete a repeat of yesterday.”

Paul Dumbrell came closest to Le Brocq in the dying stages, falling 0.38s shy of pole in a strong performance aboard Eggleston Motorsport’s previous generation VE Commodore.

Dumbrell was able to split the Prodrive entries as Le Brocq’s team-mate and title rival Garry Jacobson managed just third.

Jacobson had been down in fourth after his first green tyre lap before edging ahead of Macauley Jones with his second effort.

Todd Hazelwood and Richard Muscat will share the third row ahead of Shae Davies, James Golding, Bryce Fullwood and Andrew Jones.

Jones’ session was disrupted by a trip down the Turn 3 escape road at the start of his final run.

The 21 lap race will take place from 1450 local time.
