Former Champ Car and IndyCar driver Katherine Legge has confirmed plans to compete in the all new electric Formula E series with Japanese team Amlin Suzuki.
The 34-year-old becomes the first woman to commit to the revolutionary series and will join a growing list of former F1 and sportscar drivers on the grid for the season opener in Beijing in September.
Legge is the 11th driver to be unveiled for Formula E’s inaugural season and the first confirmed at Aguri Suzuki’s outfit.
This year the Brit has been driving the DeltaWing entry in the United Sportscar Championship.
“For me this is a really exciting opportunity,” said Legge.
“The car is fantastic, it looks amazing and it will be very quick.
“Racing through the streets of the world’s leading cities will be an incredible experience and I think it’s a great chance to bring racing to the people.”
The FIA Formula E championship is set to kick off in Beijing, China on September 13.
