Lotus’ 2014 challenger has made its public debut on the opening morning of the second pre-season Formula 1 test in Bahrain.
The Enstone outfit is the last team to unveil its new E22 machine after sitting out the opening pre-season test held at Jerez last month.
Like the majority of the grid, the E22 is equipped with a unique take on the new FIA nose regulations, opting for a twin prong style design.
Frenchman Romain Grosjean will be behind the wheel of the car for its maiden public appearance with team-mate Pastor Maldonado, who completed 100km in a demonstration in the E22 at Jerez earlier this month, due to take over for the final two days.
The test will be the team’s first competitive hit-out since the departure of team principal Eric Boullier to rival McLaren.
