Following on from last weekend’s fracas, which will see Ryan Farrell face a Speedway Australia tribunal as a result of failing a drugs test at QUIT Bunbury Raceway, the Diamond Bay Racing team has announced that South Aussie Luke Dillon will join their team for the Krikke Boys Shootout next weekend.
Given they draw support from the Bunbury Auto Group, the ‘Boys Race’ is of huge importance to the team.
“We have had successful negotiations with South Australian and World Series Sprintcars driver, Luke Dillon,” their statement read. “In our efforts to keep our product out on the track, (Luke) will drive for us at the annual Krikke Boys Shootout on March 2 and 3.”
The team also expressed its dismay at the positive reading returned by Farrell.
“To our teams’ disappointment, (Ryan) was found to have a positive reading for drug use.
“While we are extremely disappointed with the result, we also understand Ryan now has issues, which he himself must address.
“It is our teams’ top priority to maintain our high and professional standards of presentation and racing attributes toward the speedway public and our sponsors.”
ENZED World Series Sprintcars, presented by Hog’s Breath Cafe continues this weekend at the Perth Motorplex. Dillon – who will end the Championship in his family operated car – sits 25 points from Steven Lines with the two night show remaining.
