German ace Marco Wittmann has ended the fourth practice session by blitzing the field in preparation for the Bathurst 12 Hour.
Completing his maiden competition day at the 6.2km Mount Panorama circuit, Wittmann banked a 2:03.21s lap to lead the field.
The Team BMW SRM #60 M6 which Wittmann shares with Steven Richards and Mark Winterbottom is benefitting from the raft of improvements which arrived from Munich recently.
Double DTM champion Wittmann set the fastest time of the four sessions, eclipsing the time set by Chaz Mostert in the MARC Cars Australia M6 of 2:03.31s set in P3.
Christopher Haase was second best in the final run behind the wheel of the Jamec Pem Audi R8 in 2:04.15s.
Continuing its strong pace, the Maranello Ferrari 488 was third fastest with Craig Lowndes at the wheel in 2:04.32s.
Young tyro Matt Campbell produced a best of 2:04.41s which saw him fourth fastest in the Competition Motorsports Porsche that was quickest in the Pro-Am class.
Reigning champion Shane van Gisbergen set a 2:04.61s best to be fifth in the factory-supported Scott Taylor Motorsports Mercedes AMG GT.
Alvaro Parente was sixth in the #1 Tekno McLaren, ahead of Timo Glock in the #7 BMW Team SRM M6.
The Miedecke/Stone Racing Aston Martin Vantage V12 topped the Am class after it finished 10th quickest outright.
Grove Motorsport topped Class B in 2:10.89s while Class C saw the PROsport Performance Porsche Cayman in 2:19.66s with Class I topped by type #91 Ford Focus.
In the early stages of the 50-minute session Tim Berryman triggered a red flag incident when he speared off at McPhillamy Park, hitting the wall in the #55 Ginetta.
