Willowbank Raceway will play host to over 200 historic dragsters this weekend (August 11-12) as part of the Cruzin Magazine Nostalgia Nationals, headlined by three outstandingly restored nitro Funny Cars.
It’s a full weekend for drag racing history buffs, including a swap meet, the on-track component of course and plenty of static displays, including a Show and Shine.
Paul Shackleton will have his Shack Attack on hand, to be piloted by ANDRA Pro Series Top Fuel runner up, Damien Harris, whilst Rick Gauci will be aboard Graeme Cowin’s Nitro Express (pictured right).
“We have more than 220 racers and plenty of on and off track entertainment including the Shannons Show and Shine,” said Willowbank Raceway Managing Director, Steve Bettes.
“(ANDRA Pro Series) Top Alcohol racer, Rick Gauci, will be behind the wheel of one of the Rocket Industries nostalgia nitro funny cars. The fans are in for a great show with a true walk down memory lane in store with everything from the nostalgia nitro funny cars to retro bikes and vintage gas racers!”
The Nostalgia Nationals are quickly becoming a hallmark event for Willowbank Raceway – located in the Ipswich Motorsport precinct at Champions Way, Willowbank.
