The crash – in a Slamfest event in Tasmania – saw Fabietti roll the car after getting caught in the parachutes of Tony De Felice. Whilst at first glance the rollover didn’t appear too severe, the damage was sufficient enough to rule him out of the third round of the Championship in Perth.
“It was largely cosmetic but we took the car straight off the boat from Tasmania and to (chassis builder) Murray Anderson’s to put it on the jig and make sure everything was right,” said Fabietti. “It bent the wing struts very slightly and we’ve had to fit a new rear body clip to it. The rest we have just repaired.”
The car will return to the track on Wednesday in testing for this weekend’s event.
The popular Sydney-sider still remains in eighth placing in the points standings and with big entry numbers expected for this weekend’s round at Sydney Dragway and just eight places up for grabs in the field, it will be critical for Fabietti to hit the ground running.
