Andrew Miedecke claimed victory behind the safety car in a drastically shortened Touring Car Masters opener at Bathurst.
The race was neutralised on the opening lap for an incident involving Paul Freestone with officials declaring the race after five of the scheduled seven laps behind the Safety Car.
As a result half points will be granted.
Miedecke took victory ahead of John Bowe with Jim Richards third.
Pole-sitter Glenn Seton, enjoying a wild card entry in an XY Falcon this weekend, made a slow start and found himself in fourth at Hell corner.
Miedecke blasted into the lead with Bowe following in his wheel tracks and Richards in third.
The packed 27-car field were unable to make it through the first corner without drama as Greg Crick retired with engine issues.
However, worse was to come as Freestone’s Chevrolet Camaro lost a right rear wheel and slammed into the barriers at Reid Park.
The incident brought out the safety car, freezing the positions until the finish with officials unable to clean up the mess sufficiently.
