Factory Audi driver Christopher Mies and Ryan Millier enhanced their Australian GT title hopes with a hard fought victory at Sandown.
The Jamec-Pem Audi R8 duo held third position in the first half of the race following a strong stint from Mies who came through a dice with the Erebus Motorsport Mercedes of Morgan Haber.
However, Mies was unable to keep pace with the Maranello Ferrari of Grant Denyer who stormed into an early lead from pole position.
After being demoted to eighth on the grid following a pit lane penalty in Race 1, Jono Lester produced a storming drive in the Trass Ferrari to eventually take the lead from Denyer prior to the mandatory pit stops.
Once the pit stops were completed the McLaren 650S of Tony Quinn emerged in the lead courtesy of his shorter compulsory stop ahead of Millier, who took over the Jamec-Pem Audi from Mies.
With the leader in sight, Millier pushed hard and eventually slipped by Quinn with 10 minutes of the race remaining.
Millier had to keep an eye on his mirrors as a hard charging Haber emerged in contention for the victory after rejoining the race from the pits ahead of the Maranello and Trass Ferraris.
Haber scythed his way passed the Glen Wood/Elliot Barbour Lamborghini to move into second spot before he set his sights on Millier.
In the end, Millier held on to take the victory from Haber with the Wood/Barbour Lamborghini in third.
Tony D’Alberto in the Maranello Ferrari managed to pass the Trass Ferrari of Graeme Smyth in the closing laps to secure fourth.
Another measured drive from Klark Quinn saw him claim sixth ahead the AMAC Motorsport Porsche of Andrew Macpherson and Brad Shiels.
Geoff Emery brought the the second Erebus Mercedes SLS home in eighth while Nathan Antunes (Audi R8) and Tony Walls (McLaren) rounded out the top 10.
After leading early in the second half of the race, Tony Quinn finished in 11th after being handed two drive through penalties for speeding in the pits.
The Australian GT Championship owner finished ahead of the Ross Stone Racing entry of Andrew Miedecke.
