The all-new BMW 3 Series touring car set to do battle in the British Touring Car Championship this year has broken cover.
West Surrey Racing will field three of the new BMW 330i M Sport machines in the UK’s premier race series for reigning BTCC champion Colin Turkington, 2013 champion Andrew Jordan and new signing Tom Oliphant.
The BMW 3 series has a rich history in the BTCC having won five drivers’ titles in the hands of Frank Sytner (1988), Will Hoy (1991), Tim Harvey (1992), Joachim Winkelhock (1993) and Turkington in 2009.
BMW’s latest offering replaces the 125i M Sport which debuted in 2013 and helped Turkington to a further two titles in 2014 and 2018.
Turkington and Oliphant will run under BMW’s famous white, blue and red M Motorsport sport colours, while Jordan will once again race in a Pirtek backed entry.
The car will make its track debut at Brands Hatch today ahead of next week’s opening round at the Kent venue.
