Triple Eight has been tasked to develop the ZB Commodore by Holden, which is due to make its championship debut next year, initially powered by the current V8 engine.
The squad has been developing a V6 twin-turbo power unit, which broke cover earlier this year, ahead of wildcard appearances next season, before a full 2019 launch.
The car is expected to complete its first of a three Accredited Manufacturer Test days, issued to teams developing a new model, late next week at Queensland Raceway.
Interest is growing from existing Holden teams looking to upgrade to the ZB Commodore next year.
