Nico Rosberg has dominated the second practice in Bahrain, lapping almost half a second faster than Mark Webber’s Red Bull.
The Mercedes driver, winner in the last Grand Prix in China, lapped the Sakhir circuit 0.446s faster than Webber and was the only driver to break into the 1m33s bracket.
Webber’s team-mate Sebastian Vettel was third, over 0.7s behind Rosberg.
Close behind them came Practice 1 pacesetter Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) and Michael Schumacher (Mercedes). Jenson Button (McLaren) was sixth followed by Kamui Kobayashi (Sauber), Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), Romain Grosjean (Lotus) and Sergio Perez (Sauber).
Australian Toro Rosso driver Daniel Ricciardo was 11th fastest, just ahead of Ferrari’s Felipe Massa.
The Force India cars of Paul di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg did not compete in the session, citing safety concerns.
