Rising Australian open-wheeler driver Oscar Piastri will test a Formula 3 car with the highly credentialed Prema Racing.

The Formula Renault Eurocup championship leader will undertake the test at Valencia tomorrow and Monday, which will be his first experience of the 2019 Dallara F3 car.

“I am excited to be driving with Prema Racing next week,” said Piastri.

“After testing in the GP3 Series last year I am looking forward to seeing how this year’s FIA Formula 3 car compares to the experience.

“When you look at the history of the team, the drivers it has worked with as they’ve been making their way to the top levels of racing, and the excellent results it has this season as well, you can see that it has a winning mentality, so I cannot wait to spend a few days with them.

“The FIA Formula 3 Championship is a fantastic series full of the best teams and drivers around, so it would be a logical destination for next year.

“However, for now, I am concentrating on the final rounds of the Formula Renault Eurocup and securing the championship title at Yas Marina.”

Prema won both the drivers’ and teams’ titles in this year’s FIA Formula 3 Championship, as well as a race in FIA Formula 2.
