With Australian motorsport in a three-week New Zealand swing, the Pirtek Poll wants to know which Kiwi race track is your favourite.

For a country of less than 5 million people, NZ boasts an impressive collection of permanent racing facilities.

Located 40km south of Auckland, the high-speed Pukekohe is arguably the most famous, hosting the country’s annual Supercars race.

A dual-purpose car and horse racing venue, its history dates back to hosting rounds of the legendary Tasman Cup during the 1960s.

Australian GT’s visits to NZ that bookend this weekend’s Supercars event take place at two far newer facilities, Hampton Downs and Highlands Park.

Both are owned by Tony Quinn, with Hampton recently receiving an extensive makeover that has included lengthening the northern Waikato venue to 4km.

Located in the picturesque Cromwell, Central Otago, Highlands is Quinn’s showpiece, having been opened by the Scot three years ago.

Elsewhere, Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park, or Taupo as it is better known, also sits among the country’s premier tracks.

It received heavy investment last decade before hosting an A1GP round, including being bolstered to 3.5km.

Other well established circuits to feature on NZ’s domestic scene include Manfeild (Palmerston North), Ruapuna (Christchurch), Teretonga (Invercargill), and Timaru.
