Thomas Randle has secured drive for Douglas Motorsport in the British Formula 4 Championship.
After claiming an impressive fifth place in a one-off drive in the season-ending Toyota Racing Series New Zealand Grand Prix, Randle is ready to tackle the BRDC F4 Championship comprising of 24 races across eight rounds.
Other leading teams who compete in the open wheel class include Carlin, Fortec Motorsports and Double R Racing.
“It was great getting back behind the wheel of the TRS car last weekend (at Manfeild) and to be second fastest in my first practice session was very satisfying,” Randle said.
“Nobody could touch young Brit Lando Norris in TRS this year and he will be a great benchmark for me to measure myself against in BRDC Formula 4.
“The new Cosworth powered Tatuus looks quite quick and having seen the team’s recent results with the new car I am confident we can be quite strong in our championship assault.”
Randle will work with engineer Marcus Koch who has plenty of experience in the World Series by Renault.
“I’m heading off to the UK this Sunday night and know that living overseas will be a bit of culture shock, but this is what I have always wanted to do and I am planning on maximising the opportunity.”
