Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia
Jordan Love has clean-swept the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Jim Richards Trophy proceedings at Sydney Motorsport Park with two more race wins today.
Just like yesterday, Love lead Brenton Grove (#23 Grove Hire Porsche GT3 Cup) and Anthony Gilbertson (#19 Hallmark Homes Porsche GT3 Cup) across the finish line for races two and three.
“We struggled early in the weekend throughout practice, just grabbed pole position in qualifying and learned a lot throughout the weekend. I hadn’t driven here before in a Porsche, but I feel as though by the time we got to the last race I was happy with my performance,” said Love.
“There’s still a long way to go over the next two race meetings and anything can happen so I have to remain consistent until the final race of the season.”
John Morriss and Brett Boulton rounded out the top five in both 10-lap outings, in their #34 Motorsport Leasing P/L and #84 Bold Living entries respectively.
In race two, John Steffenson was classified in sixth in the #78 Zagame Autosport entry after receiving a five second penalty for rolling the start.
Today’s efforts saw Love, Grove and Gilberston lock out the top three positions on the round podium.
Australian Production Car Series
Bob Pearson has made it four from four race wins in the Pro-Duct Mitsubishi Evo 10 for the Tyreright Sydney Challenge this weekend.
In race three, while Pearson celebrated, heart ache once again struck for the Sherrin Racing crew.
Their BMW M4 lead for the first half of the race and was challenging for second after carving their way back through following their pit stop.
However, another flat right tyre would strike and force them to the lane – they would finish fifth.
Pearson crossed the line ahead of the Rod Salmon/Nathan Antunes Skwirk Online Mercedes A45 and the Lachlan Gibbons/Dimitri Agathos FullGas Racing Subaru WRX Sti.
The Sti benefited from the retirement of then-third-placed Mark Eddy and his Audi TT RS with just a minute and a half left on the clock.
Taking out the class race victories were Tyler Everingham in the Osborne Motorsport Renault Megane (C/6th), the Gore/Galang BMW135i (B1/9th), the Best Jet HSV GTS of Michael James (A2/10th), the Hankook Australia Kia Proceed (D/12th) and the FullGas Racing Nissan Pulsar (E/14th).
Following an overnight gearbox change, the BestJet Ute formerly of Luke Spalding again struggled and retired early in the race.
In the afternoon’s race four, the Sherrin Racing BMWM4 again was in contention for the win, leading a portion of the early running when Pearson pitted and rejoining after their own pit stop in 8th position.
Grant Sherrin would work hard to bring the car back up the field to second behind Pearson, with Grant pushing very hard to close the gap over the closing portion of the race.
However, it wasn’t to be, with the #18 crew having to settle for second – a personal best race result in the new car which only achieved its first race finishes this weekend after debuting earlier this year.
Third across the road was the Salmon/Antunes entry after another strong showing, while battles raged across the classes.
Taking home the race class wins would be Everingham (C/5th), the Warren Clift/Daniel Clift Nolan Finishes HSV VZ (A2, 8th), the #19 Michael Sherrin/Stephen Champion BMW135i (B1/9th), the Walsh/King Kia Proceed (D/10th) and the Wilson/Stephens Nissan Pulsar (E/13th).

Taking out the class standings this weekend were Michael Shaw (Radical – #2 Shaw Racing Radical), John-Paul Drake (Kumho Cup – #66 Jam Motorsport WX10) and Terry Peovitis (F1000 – #4 Orlando Phoenix F1000).
Radical Australia Cup
Peter Paddon made it two from two with victory over Chris Medland and Sue Hughes in the second Radical mini-enduro for the weekend, making it a clean sweep for the weekend.
Rounding out the top five were the Brad Neilson/Mitchell Nielson entry and Greg Kenny in his RA Motorsports SR3RS. Sixth and seventh for the race were Rowan Ross and Kim Burke, while yesterday’s race runner-p Michael haw failed to finish.
Joining Shaw in failing to make it to the finish were Phil Anseline and Oliver Smith, who finished yesterday’s race in third.
Today’s race results see Paddon take victory for the round ahead of the second-placed Neilson and Neilson, while Hughes was third.

Yesterday’s top qualifier and race one winner Enzo Piazza failed to finish, as did Metodia Karanfilovski, Demi Carigliano and Gerard Knapp.
In race three, Capraro took out the victory, with Gatto and Piazza locking out the race podium while Frank Carigliano and Selwood rounded out the top five.
