Schmidt Peterson Motorsports will no longer field a third car for Calmels Sport and driver Tristan Gommendy in next year’s Indianapolis 500.
The Calmels/Gommendy entry had been the first one-off confirmed for next year’s running of the Indy 500, but has since been called off.
“Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and Calmels Sport have mutually agreed to end their partnership of a 2018 Indianapolis 500 program,” read a brief statement from SPM.
“SPM will continue to focus on raising the level of performance of its involvement in the Verizon IndyCar Series. Both parties wish one another well in the future.”
