Scott Taylor has announced that he will pilot one of two Mercedes-AMG GT3s which his team will enter in this year’s Australian GT Championship.
Taylor will make his return to racing in the season opener at the Australian Grand Prix, having been out of the driver’s seat since a sizeable crash at Sydney Motorsport Park last August.
He will again be partnered by Craig Baird for the three endurance rounds, the first of which will be held as part of The Bend Motorsport Park’s first motor racing event in mid-April, while the identity of the second car’s driver is yet to be named.
“At this stage it looks like I’ll be in one of the Mercedes and we’ll have a client in the second of the Mercedes, so we’ll campaign two Mercedes for the full year, in both Sprint and Endurance,” said Taylor.
“The only way that would change is if we had two customers who wanted to run the Mercedes, in which case I would go into the Trophy Class in the Porsche.”
Round 1 of the Australian GT Championship takes place at Albert Park on March 22-25.
