TeamVodafone will sport a total new look for the final round of the V8 Supercar Championship Series this weekend at the Sydney Telstra 500.
The ‘all-but’ back-to-back champion team will support the McGrath Foundation by changing the look of their day-glo red Falcons to pink.
This news means that there will be four cars in the field heavily supporting the McGrath Foundation – the two pink Vodafone cars of Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes and the two Wilson Security Racing Falcons of Fabian Coulthard and Michael Patrizi.
The McGrath Foundation is a charity organisation, set up by the late Jane McGrath and her cricketing husband Glenn. The charity raises awareness and funds for breast care nurses to care for women in regional areas.
But the red paint isn’t the only thing that TeamVodafone will take off. Team drivers Whincup and Lowndes, plus a selection of the TeamVodafone crew, have stripped off for a charity calendar – Shifting Gear – with all money raised going to the McGrath Foundation.
The calendar was launched today in Sydney. The Vodafone cars aren’t expected to be seen in the flesh until Thursday.
It will be the last time that TeamVodafone will race Falcons. The team switches to Commodores next year.
