East Coast Pipelines Sprintcar star Robbie Farr has continued his terrific start to the Australian Sprintcar season by securing his third successive victory at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway last night.

The Perth-based speedster made his third trip on the red eye to Sydney and went through the qualifying procedures before winning the dash that ensured he started the main from pole position.

Garry Rooke started on Farr’s outside of the front row and made it as far as the second turn before getting out of shape.

From there Farr bolted to the front with Craig Brady in hot pursuit aboard the Pick and Payless #2 with Ian Loudon tucked in close behind.

Farr’s lead alternated between five and 10 car lengths, but he was cautious in traffic,
while
Loudon dived under Brady and grabbed second in the Blackshaws #18 until he clipped a lapped car in traffic and put Brady back on the tail of Farr.

James Thompson, almost the forgotten hero from last week after leading the main until taken out by a lapped car, started from position six and took second in the feature while a 12th starting Marty Perovich finished third with Brady fourth and Mitchell Dumesny fifth.

Farr has now had three successive feature race starts, including the $5000 to win Brian Healey Cup, and remains unbeaten at the Sydney venue this season.

“We came here knowing how tough the competition is and wanted to be on our game when World Series commences in two weeks,” said Farr.
