Van Gisbergen, Verstappen team-mates in B12Hr sim race

Shane van Gisbergen and Max Verstappen will share a virtual garage as part of a two-entry effort from Team Redline for the iRacing Bathurst 12 Hour this weekend.

The pair will steer sister BMW Z4 GT3s in the event, which begins at noon AEDT on February 9.

Joining van Gisbergen is former Super3 Series (nee Kumho V8 Touring Cars) champ Justin Ruggier, fellow Aussie Ben Cornett, and Dutchman Rudy Van Buren.

The team’s other car features two current Formula 1 drivers and a BMW works driver with Verstappen joined by Lando Norris, Nicky Catsburg, and Atze Kerkhof.

Last weekend van Gisbergen raced to fourth in the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, mounting a late challenge on Raffale Marciello in a similar Mercedes-AMG GT3.

He then collapsed post-race due to the exertion required in his final stint, with a brake problem forcing him to use two feet on the pedal.
