This weekend the motor sport viewing focus will be on Abu Dhabi and Symmons Plains in Tasmania.
Formula One
This is by far the biggest weekend of Mark Webber’s career. The Queanbeyan ace will back-up from last weekend’s Brazilian Grand Prix with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix under lights at Yas Marina. Qualifying is LIVE on ONE HD on Saturday evening at 11.50pm. Greg Rust is LIVE from Abu Dhabi from 11pm Sunday evening – with the race LIVE from 11.50pm.
V8 Supercars
The Falken Tasmania Challenge will be run at Symmons Plains and the most of the attention will be on the battle between championship leader James Courtney and two-time defending V8 title holder Jamie Whincup. Coverage on Seven is at 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday. SPEED TV will show full race replays at 9.30pm Saturday and Sunday evenings.
NASCAR
LIVE coverage of the Camping World Truck Series from Phoenix can be seen at 11.30am Saturday morning on SPEED TV. The Nationwide Wypall 200 will be telecast at 2.15am Sunday morning on ONE HD. The Kobalt Tolls 500 from Phoenix can be seen LIVE at 6am Monday morning on SPEED TV.
Bikes
The Super X Series from Auckland will be screened on SPEED TV on Saturday evening at 7.30pm.
Rally
The final round of the World Rally Championship comes from Great Britain this weekend with daily highlights screened on ONE HD at 8pm Saturday night, 9.30pm on Sunday evening and 6pm Monday night.
Drag Racing
The final event of the NHRA Full Throttle Series, the Automobile Club of Southern California Nationals will be screened on ESPN from 4pm Monday.
On the radio
Neil Crompton and Mark Skaife can be heard on Triple M in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on Saturday morning. This week’s guests are new Holden boss Mike Deveraux, 1987 500cc World Champion Wayne Gardner talking about his son Remy’s ambitions in bikes, Gulf Western Oils Racing’s Warren Luff, young female rally star Molly Taylor along with Nine and Triple M broadcaster James Brayshaw.
