Williams has revealed its all-new FW35 for the new Formula 1 season – the final team to unveil its 2013 F1 contender.
After using a modified version its 2012 car for pre-season testing at Jerez earlier this month, the Renault-powered FW35 will make its track debut at Barcelona today.
While the team has said that the car is an evolution of last year’s car, the statement released by the famous team today says that 80 percent of the car is brand-new.
“Given the rule stability over the winter, I’m pleased with the gains that we’ve been able to make with this car,” said technical director Mike Coughlan.
“It’s a better, more refined Formula 1 car than the FW34 and I think everyone involved in the project can feel proud of the work they’ve done.”
Barcelona race-winner Pastor Maldonado has been retained by the team for the 2013 season and will be joined by Valtteri Bottas, who has been promoted from the reserve driver role, replacing Bruno Senna.
The opening round of the F1 World Championship will be held at the Albert Park road course in Melbourne on March 14-17.
